Immigration Reform
Immigration reform provides a considerable extension of Minister of Immigration powers, especially in adjusting the flow of immigration to Canada, the preferences of different categories of immigrants, deciding upon the fate of individual immigrants and refugees. According to the opponents of the bill, it could lead to discrimination in the immigration process.
Curiously, but the opposition prefer not to refer to the Canada's interests in this case. Meanwhile, the main idea of the reform is that the Ministers of Immigration will have the opportunity each year to determine the most desired Canadian immigrants, which would allow much faster to respond to the needs of the country. Of course, there are fears that the Minister will have the opportunity to reduce some of the other categories, which, say, could become an unnecessary burden, but can be in the interest of any political force, based on the different segments of voters.
The near future will show what would be in reality the consequences of the reform. In the meantime, the newly published study by Statistics Canada indicates that the success of immigrants, among other factors are largely influenced by their origin - more specifically, one or another country of origin.
However this allegation is not backed up by any specific data that would accurately identify immigrants from any country to quickly find jobs in Canada, becoming faster on their feet, and why - through language, for example, or business initiative, or demand profession, or membership of a particular group, especially the widely represented in the public sector.
